First post, and Bandwidth?

This is my first blog post, so format and everything else is going out the window. I am also doing this from my mobile device (how tech of me). I wanted to write a blog to talk about the techno issues i face and possible what issues others may face also.

To start off i am concerned with this pay per use broadband internet cap. I watched 3 youtube videos with reguards to this all with a bunch of guys talking about there point and there issue with this idea of bigger comoanys (bell and rogers for us canadians), forcing there smaller "piggy backing" companys to charge pay per use to make it fair. Well to be honest i pay 67$ for lightning fast fibre optic bell internet, with consistant actual download speed of 2000kbps with a bandwidth download cap of... (drum roll) 115gb/month! Now this sounds well and dandy, and truly it is. I honestly think im on a promotion and it will drop to 90gbs any month now. But i noticed the last 2 months i hit my cap limit. 5$ in overages one month and 11.50 the other month.

Now some would say what the heck are you doing chewing up 230 gigs of information in 2 months! Well, video games and netflicks. I can download at such outragious speeds i decided to check my download for this month, its the 7th today, im already 50gbs into my download cap. Now ask whats on my internet? My gaming PC which uses steam (games range from a few hundred megabytes to full on 12gig installs plus mmo online time), my xbox 360 (play online too and download my netflix), another laptop pc my gf rarely uses and finally my bluray player that streams youtube which i also watch on my PC. Oh and my smart phone galaxy s android phone i use on my wifi uses up data too (i have a data logger upto 2gbs per month damn youtube cant get enough)

So what is a consumer to do? Switch to Tek Savvy get there unlimited plan? Cool idea but is it safe? Can i trust that my best interests are with them? So far im very happy with my relyable never been dissconnected servive, i pay a premium for a name i can trust i am aware. Maybe its just that, maybe bell's gbs are worth more then Tek Savvy's even though there exactly the same. All i know is that in the end its the power users that suffer, and the more and more we grow in size. Switch off conventional things like buying our games on dvds and cds and downloading them, or watching our tv shows and renting our movies the old fasion way. We will all run into that barrier with its nasty little hand sticking out.

Main reason why big companys want to force small unlimited companys to pay per use, because they dont want to be out sold by them using there own internet lines.
